The members of the NHF M/O Ministry Team desire to glorify God through
faithful prayer, compassionate service, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

NHF M/O Vision Statement

Giving glory to God, we believe that our existence as believers is for His glory, that we are called to do all things for the glory of our God, and that we give Him glory for providing the strength and help we need to serve Him.  May the glory of God be displayed to the world through our service, for:

  • with faithful prayer, we commit to serving others, seeking God’s guidance and grace in all circumstances, pursuing His strength and wisdom as we follow Christ’s footsteps, and striving to understand His plans for us to become His instruments in faith and deed; and
  • with compassionate service, we seek to reflect God’s love and mercy, being transformed by God-given joy, glorifying Him with compassionate and wholehearted acts, and doing all things with His strength and for His praise; and
  • with Christ’s Commission, we rely on the many promises of God who enables us to obey His commands by making disciples of all nations, acting as Christ’s ambassadors to the world near and far, and preaching the Good News with boldness.

Our Missionaries

The NHF M/O Ministry Team coordinates NHF's regular support of five missionary projects in:

  • China
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Indonesia
  • Ukraine
  • Africa

As some of these projects are of a sensitive nature, the M/O Team requests that you speak to individual members of the Team for further information and to receive prayer requests from these missionary teams.

The M/O Team also participates in spontaneous support of missions efforts as they arise and are presented to the NHF body.  Most recently, for example, the Team made a one-time gift to Esther Baek, who made a two-year commitment to teach in Turkey with Oasis International Schools, a division of NICS (Network of International Christian Schools).

Please continue to be in prayer with us over these missionaries as they serve the Lord all over the globe.

Our Outreach

The NHF M/O Ministry Team will be continuing to spearhead participation in the following outreach opportunities in 2007:

On Tuesday, May 29th, New Hope's dentists will be hosting a Dental Health Seminar for the Even Start families.  Please come out and join us for this evening to fellowship and show support, or if you'd like to assist with child-care activities.   On Sunday, June 17th, we will be celebrating Father's Day outdoors at a joint picnic with the Even Start Families.  Please join us there for an outdoor service, barbecue and what we hope will be a warm, sunny day abounding in love and friendship in Christ's name.

The Loaves & Fish serving dates for the summer-fall season are as follows: Saturday, June 9th; Saturday, August 4th; and Saturday, September 22nd.   Teams of 4-5 people are encouraged to sign up with Cathy Cha and/or Robert Nechols to prepare hot meals for this weekly soup kitchen ministry.  About 30 guests arrive for dinner each Saturday, and it's a wonderful time for members of our church family to fellowship as they serve the local community.

Please join us as we continuously and faithfully seek God's will with regard to these outreach programs.  It is our hope and prayer that He will guide NHF with a firm and wise hand, as we put down roots in this community and search for ways in which to serve Him and His creation with the utmost of generosity, grace and compassion.

In addition, we encourage you to turn your attention to organizations such as the ones listed below.  These groups are responding to Christ's call to serve the poor, needy and abused, and seek to bring God's peace and justice to the economically and spiritually poor around the globe.

Our Sister

In January 2007, a team of 7 New Hope members (U07: Edward Kim, Robert Nechols, Cathy Cha, Grace Cho, Jen Chon, Sang Yoon, Cesar Capio) flew to Kremenchuk, Ukraine to spend time with New Hope Church (fortuitously named, don't you think?), a new church that was being established in the heart of the city of Kremenchuk.  Although we went abroad thinking we'd "merely" do some evangelism and help a new church find its footing, we quickly discovered that God's heart ran a little deeper than that.

At the end of our 10-day stay in Ukraine, our team found that we had received much more than we had given, and that Christ had bound our two churches together in a way that can only be described as sisterhood: we were theirs, and they were ours.  Surprisingly deep friendships had been forged, and the fullness of Christ's love had been shared between us, such that by the end of our stay, the New Hope Church members could hardly sense that we Americans were not also actually Ukrainians, just like them.  It was not difficult to make the decision to sister with New Hope Church, to "adopt" them in these early years when they need financial and serious prayer support, and to partner with them as they continue to grow as a church in the coming years.

Returning back to the States was a near-wrenching experience for all of us; some of us could have stayed there and been perfectly content.  It is a great consolation to know -- and to see -- that the love and power of God binds us together.  Please pray for the healthy and loving growth of our sisterhood with New Hope Church; for wisdom as we seek to discover the best ways to support and strengthen our sister; for Pastor Sasha and his staff; and for all of our dear, dear brothers and sisters in Kremenchuk.  May our faith be their faith, and would Christ be Lord over all of us.
